The World

Our setting is high fantasy (grand heroes and villains, magic, dragons, etc.) with some steampunk/technomagic elements. Themes and stories cover a wide range of tone from classic sword and sorcery, to high drama, with some diversions into horror, and into absolute silliness. For more about our current plot lines we recommend joining our Discord server to discuss things with current players.

The Game

We are an independent, Northern Virginia based, high fantasy, light touch boffer style game using the Accelerant Rules system - with a very heavy emphasis on storytelling and role play. We've been hosting game events since 2011.

New players and NPCs are welcome! (NPCing is always free)

Numina hosts four weekend-spanning events a year (on average)

Game sites are currently in Harrisonburg, VA and Woodbridge, VA

We strive to host events that are welcoming to everyone. Numina is LGBTQ+ friendly and we believe Black Lives Matter.

18+ to play (our players currently range in age from 18 to late 50's)

Roleplay can sometimes be intense, we utilize emotional safety mechanics


About Accelerant:

The Accelerant rules system makes for smooth boffer combat, with very flavor/story rich combat scenes - its focus is on intuitive flexibility to help everyone improvise and react to a wide variety of in-game scenarios. When combat occurs, lightest touch is always the goal. "Be nice" is a rule for our game, not just a suggestion. Many more details to be found in our rulebook.
